This January/February will definitely have me traveling to Boundary Bay on the lower mainland to photograph Snowy Owls, Bald Eagles and possibly other raptors. The area lies just outside of Vancouver and has been set aside as a bird sanctuary, because it lies within the Pacific Migratory Fly-way. Snowy Owls began showing up in the area several years ago, and it's believed they are expanding their range as a function of lower prey population on the arctic tundra. This is further evidenced by some individuals arriving severally emaciated. Look forward to sharing my this experience and photos with you.
